Acer palmatum 'Katsura' is a slow growing, densely branched, upright shrub/small tree. It is a splendid variety, in spring yellow to soft green leaves with red-orange margins, quickly changing to orange and then to deep green in summer. At the end of the season, the leaves are a feast of red, orange and yellow. The flowering is not striking.
