Magnolia stellata, ook wel stermagnolia genoemd, is een kleine tot middelgrote bladverliezende magnolia struik met een ronde bossige, opgaande vorm. Hij bloeit in de maanden maart en april met geurende witte stervormige bloemen die wel tot 18 witte lintvormige bloemblaadjes kunnen bevatten. Magnolia stellata houdt van een standplaats in volle zon of lichte schaduw. Deze magnolia is onderhoudsarm en behoeft weinig snoei.
