Magnolia "Susan" is een middelgrote bladverliezende Beverboom met een ronde bossige, opgaande vorm. Hij bloeit in de maand mei met geurende paarsroze opstaande bloemen die donkerder van kleur zijn nabij het centrum. Hij houdt van een standplaats in volle zon of licht schaduw. Deze magnolia is onderhoudsarm, behoeft weinig snoei en is redelijk winterhard.
