Prunus laurocerasus "otto luyken", is een kleine wintergroene sierstruik met een compacte dichtvertakte vorm. Hij bloeit in mei en juni met kleine witte, geurende bloempjes. Hij prefereert een standplaats in de halfschaduw, doet het goed in vrijwel iedere grondsoort, is redelijk winterhard en produceert in de herfst niet eetbare vruchtjes. Prunus laurocerasus "otto luyken" is bruikbaar als formele haag en lokt vlinders en bijen.
