Prunus laurocerasus "caucasica", ook wel laurierkers genoemd is een middelgrote wintergroene sierstruik met een breed opgaande, dicht vertakte vorm. Hij bloeit in april en mei met kleine witte, komvormige, geurende bloempjes en heeft grote, glanzende, ovale en langwerpige donkergroene bladeren. Hij prefereert een standplaats in de halfschaduw en doet het goed in vrijwel iedere grondsoort, is redelijk winterhard en produceert in de herfst niet eetbare vruchtjes.
